Let's see, I met numerous other area bloggers, loads of Puma folks, and a couple of the guys that are actually part of the crew of the Puma race boat and hear about their trials and tribulations. We also got to take a tour of the Puma training boat - I can say with certainty that I would not want to sleep/live/race in that thing for 9 months. If you want to check it out, there's a reality web series about them on RipeTV (here).

I highly recommend everyone swing by Fan Pier and check it out while the Volvo Ocean Race is in town. It's a pretty neat experience and it'll be a chance to swing by the harbor and enjoy the warm weather. They're also selling some pretty cool gear on the 1st floor retail area of Puma City.

This is a practice post so i can see what text will look like in the entry once this blog is up and running.

There are currently 4 proposed movie studio ventures in Massachusetts, the most famous one is the one in Plymouth, but I stumbled upon a nice little Boston.com summary that has some details on all four of them. Fingers crossed that all four of these get built and that we never get rid of those film tax credits - then we'll be guaranteed to have a steady stream of movies filmed here for the foreseeable future.

that is all

Well, it looks like tis the season to be getting married because the first Second Chance wedding dress sale (here) did so well earlier this month that they're doing it again in May.

The upcoming May 2nd affair will include the sale of wedding dresses, donated from the private collection of a greyhound adopter. The dresses have been previously worn, but are in excellent condition. The dresses vary in style, with some including trains and others veils. Gown prices begin at $99.00. Second Chances hosted a similar sale at their Natick location in early April and because of the interest generated are bringing the remaining dresses from the collection to Boston.

This one-day sale will help brides-to-be manage their wedding budget and support a terrific cause all at the same time. The event will take place on May 2nd from 11:00am to 2:30pm at Doyle's Cafe, located at 3484 Washington Street in Jamaica Plain.

Shop for a wedding dress, save some cash, and save a racing dog all at the same time. Since we're saving animals, I'll refrain from using the metaphor about killing birds with stones.
